Friday 13th March 2026 Primary 2/3

We’ve had a busy week in Primary 2/3 preparing for our class assembly next week.  Here’s what we would like to share about our learning:

Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):

  • During Health and Wellbeing we learned about where food products come from and the journeys food items make to reach us. We were surprised to hear how far away some of our favourite fruits are grown.
  • For our writing session this week we wrote persuasive texts about why it is good to have a friend in class.  We worked so hard on these and Mrs Baird had a really difficult job to pick the star writer this week. Well done Evie!
  • To celebrate Science Week we made sculptures of Scottish landmarks.  Inspired by Andy Scott and his sculptures, we had to design and create a sculpture that met certain criteria including being at least 25cm, using 4 different materials, being sturdy and attractive.  We also had to make it light up.
  • We enjoyed our Science Week Celebration assembly on Friday where we were able to share our STEM learning and find out about what all the other classes had been up to.

Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning)

  • In Maths some of us found skip counting backwards quite tricky so this is something we will keep working on.
  • We are going to try to work together better and further develop our collaboration skills. We found this tricky when we were making our sculptures.

Our school value award winners for this week are Emily and Junior for being ambitious. Congratulations!

Have a lovely weekend everyone and don’t forget to put our assembly next Friday in your diary.  We’re looking forward to sharing our learning with you.
