Primary 6/7 - Friday 14th November
Primary 6/7 have had a wonderful week with lots of fantastic learning activities in class. On Friday morning, we discussed our week in school and decided that we would like to share these thoughts about our learning this week:
Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):
- Lots of us really enjoyed our comprehension and follow-up tasks this week that were linked to our class novel, “Kofi & the Rap Battle Summer”, because we developed our skills with more detailed answers using evidence from the book. It was amusing to hear Mr Hamilton having to rap quite a lot during the chapters we read this week!
- Our Rights champions enjoyed making great progress with preparation for our Rights Day in school next Friday
- We all really enjoyed our third online Mandarin lesson this week with our teachers from Southwest Jiaotong University and we thought it was great that it was quite easy to learn how to count from 11 to 19 based on our knowledge of numbers to 10. We also enjoyed learning how to ask and answer questions about name and age in Mandarin
- We also enjoyed starting our Recount focus in Writing this week and learning the different sections and type of language and structure that we should use
- The Primary 7s who were doing Bikeability this week really enjoyed learning about cycling safely on streets, despite the rather wet weather!
- We enjoyed starting our PE sessions on Tag Rugby this week
- Lots of us enjoyed our variety of Maths tasks this week including the Rich Task that we worked hard at on Friday morning
Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning)
- Some of us continued to find our Maths work with scale a little tricky
- Some of us were a little disappointed about the lack of responsibility of some people in our class during our PE session with Mrs Robertson
Our school value award winners for this week are Mason and Sebastian. Congratulations!
Well done for a fantastic week, P6/7. Have a lovely weekend.
