Primary 6/7 - Friday 5th September
Primary 6/7 have had a brilliant week with lots of interesting and engaging learning activities in class. On Friday morning, we discussed our week in school and decided that we would like to share these thoughts about our learning this week:
Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):
- We really enjoyed continuing our focus on golf in PE and focusing more on putting as well as developing our ability to control our golf shots more
- We enjoyed our Writing lesson this week as we started our focus on describing settings using lots of exciting descriptive language. We felt that the class concentrated very well on the task
- We enjoyed finishing off our subtraction review in Maths as we were feeling more confident with the process as we continued to practise the formal written method
- Our Primary 7s enjoyed the cluster cross country event that they took past in as it was great to take part in a wider sports event and meet children from other schools
- We really enjoyed our online Art lesson on Friday morning led by the National Galleries of Scotland. We were learning about Andy Goldsworthy and creating our own artworks using various items in the classroom. There was some amazing creativity.
Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning)
- Using compasses in Maths with Mrs Flynn was a little tricky
- Some of us found our Mental Maths session a bit challenging this week as, for some of us, it was the first time we tried these type of questions and learned about the importance of explaining our strategies
Our lead learners were Ben, Niamh, Faith and Che. They decided on the following three targets for the class; to take care of our buddies, to only speak when asked to and to be respectful to adults in school. They observed lots of learners in the class meeting those targets, which is great news.
Our school value award winners for this week are Ruaridh and Jake. Congratulations!
Well done for a fantastic week, P6/7. Have a lovely weekend.
