Seafield Snippets - Friday 22nd August 2025
The children’s first full week back at school has been a positive one. Everyone has enjoyed getting back into the swing of learning activities over the week and routines and expectations in classrooms have been shared. Classes will post more information about learning in individual posts here on our school blog so keep an eye out for these!
Pupil Belongings
A further request that names are put onto all lunchboxes, water bottles, lunch boxes and jackets. There are a large number of these items which don’t have names. We will not be able to guarantee that we can return lost items to you without names being added.
Playgrounds
As you will know, there isn’t a lot of space in our playground and we therefore ask that parents do not come into the playground in the morning where possible. If your child is upset and you need to be with them, please try to stand back from the main playground where the children are running around to avoid any collisions. At the end of the day, P1 and P2/3 parents are able to come into the bottom playground to collect children. P3/4 parents can enter the top playground to collect children but we would ask that for our older pupils, you make an arrangement to meet them outside of the school grounds.
Please note that children should not ride bikes or scooters inside the school grounds, they should dismount before coming through the gate. Bikes and scooters are left at your own risk, we would always advise that they are chained up to the cycle racks to keep them secure.
PE
There are sometimes occasions where a child is carrying an injury and is unable to participate in PE. Please contact the school office by email if you need to request that your child doesn’t join in with a physical activity for a period of time. Staff will not allow a child to sit out unless we have been contacted by their parent/carer to advise. Participation in PE is part of children’s entitlement to learning and it is important that when they are fit and able, everyone joins in.
Flu Vaccination Forms
Flu vaccination forms were sent home last week, please check your child’s bag if you haven’t come across yours yet. We would ask that all forms are returned by Friday of next week as they will be collected by NHS staff soon.
After School Clubs
Emails have gone out to parents of children from P3 and P4 about the multisports club and to parents of children from P5, P6 and P7 about the football club. These are the clubs which will be running once a week for the first block.
Annual EE2 forms
Please complete these forms on Parents Portal if you haven’t already. We would urge you to download the app and connect with Parents Portal if you haven’t already done so. Contact the school office if you require support to do this.
Next Week
Monday – P3/4 Multisports after school club; Parent Council meeting at 6pm
Thursday – P5 – P7 football after school club
Have a lovely weekend everyone! Lynne Egan.
