Friday 28th March Primary 6/7

Tickled Pink

  •  We were den building during outdoor learning and were developing our communication, collaboration, leadership and critical thinking skills.
  • During our basketball session with Xcite  we learned how to dribble properly.
  • While focusing on symmetry in Maths  we were creating symmetrical pictures with two or more lines of symmetry.
  • The HWB Mini Champs were using all the skills we’ve been learning using Adobe Express to create a Park Smart video presentation.  Everyone else was working in small groups to create video presentations about red pandas to enter into a competition being run by the Five Sisters Zoo.
  • Our Debating session was fun because the speakers had collected good evidence and gave excellent speeches.

Green For Growth

  • While creating the Adobe video presentations working out the timing for the music and creating character animations was tricky.
  • In symmetry we found it difficult to complete symmetrical pictures digitally.

Lead Learner Update

Our lead learners last week were Julia and Oscar and they chose to focused on

  • being ambitious in your work
  • being responsible with school equipment and resources
  • being kind to teachers and PSWs

Many of the pupils successfully achieved these targets, well done!

Mr Hamilton and Mrs Baird  are also delighted with the progress everyone has made recently using the Adobe Express resource.  Hopefully the Digital Schools Award staff were suitably impressed too, a big well done to our pupils who were interviewed this week for the award.  Fingers crossed that we’re successful!

Thank you to Preston for writing this week’s blog post. Have a great weekend!   Mrs Baird
