P2/3 Friday 21st March
P2/3 have had a fantastic few weeks together! Last week we had our class trip to the Five Sister’s Zoo where we got to explore the zoo and had some different lessons from the zoo keepers on the animals – We had an amazing time and would love to go again! Our topic for this term is under the sea and we have been enjoying learning all about the different sea creatures.
Tickled Pink:
- We have been working hard in science, focusing on classifying animals. We know that mammals have back bones and are warm-blooded, reptiles have scales and slimy skin, amphibians can live under water and are cold-blooded, invertebrates have no bones and no fur.
- In topic this week we learned all about a Venn diagram and created one for ourselves. We know that a Venn diagram has 2 circles with an overlapping area. We used this diagram to sort animals into where they lived – land, water or both.
- In numeracy we have been looking at co-ordinates with compasses. We know that there are 8 points on a compass and can name all of them. We used the coordinates during outdoor learning to explore the playground and discover what was in each direction.
Green for growth:
- In pe we are learning how to play badminton and we feel that we could do with more practice on hitting the shuttlecock with the badminton racket.
Our lead learners this week are Ernest and Eadie – Well done!
Have a good weekend, Miss Robb
