Primary 6/7 - Friday 30th October

Primary 6/7 have had a lovely first week back after the October break with lots of interesting and engaging learning activities in class. On Friday morning, we discussed our week in school and decided that we would like to share these thoughts about our learning this week:

Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):

  • We felt that we made did some wonderful work with our descriptive writing this week as we continued to develop our skills with using metaphors, similes, alliteration and personification. As well as describing an interesting setting we also worked hard on describing characters this week too.
  • We really enjoyed welcoming PC Henderson into school earlier this week when he came to speak to us about staying safe at this time of year, particularly in relation to bonfires and fireworks
  • Lots of us enjoyed our focus on handball in PE as we thought that it has been a while since we focused on handball and we enjoyed taking part in playing games of handball
  • We really enjoyed our Seafield Scares Hunger day as some of us enjoyed dressing up and many people kindly donated food to help families who are finding things a little difficult
  • We all felt that Reading went well this week, especially the two groups who started reading new novels this week
  • Some of us felt that Spelling went well this week as there was more focus on the spelling patterns and practice tasks
  • Lots of us enjoyed our Maths work this week because we did very good work on estimating imperial and metric units of measurement

Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning)

  • Some of us were very concerned about some of the class not being responsible during our online modern languages transition lesson
  • Some of us felt that the conversion work in Maths between imperial and metric measurements were a bit tricky

Our school value award winners for this week are Rosa and Charlie. Congratulations!

Well done for a wonderful week, P6/7. Have a lovely weekend.
