Primary 6/7 Friday 16th October 2026

We have had a fantastic final week of term in P6/7.  We spent some time this week reflecting on what we have learned and looking ahead to next term.  We decided that we would like to share these thoughts with you about our learning this week:

Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):

  • After reflecting on our learning this term and looking ahead to next term, we spent some time thinking of new targets and goals and updating our My World Of Work profiles.
  • We were writing haunted house descriptions and trying to include everything we’ve been focussing on this term including figurative language, powerful vocabulary and sentence openers.  We were able to assess how effective our descriptions were by typing them into Adobe Express and using this to create images.  This led to a discussion about how important it is to give clear and detailed information to help the reader create an accurate picture in their minds.
  • Some of us enjoyed taking part in Bikeability sessions and these will continue next term.
  • We finally got to the end of our class novel Where The World Turns Wild after a few cliff hanging chapters this week and we enjoyed demonstrating our creativity when making posters relating to this.
  • We also had a great last day, wearing red to ‘Show Racism The Red Card’, teaching playground games to our buddies and finishing with our Achievement Assembly.  We really do have a lot of talented people in our school!

Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning)

  • Despite feeling apprehensive beforehand, everyone felt the parent consultations this week were fair and honest and we are looking forward to working on our personal challenges and next steps after the holidays.

Our school value award winners for this week are Abi for being kind and Indi for being ambitious.  Well done!

Have a lovely October break and we look forward to seeing everyone when we return to class on Tuesday 27th October.
