Primary 6/7 - Friday 9th October
Primary 6/7 have had an excellent week with lots of interesting and engaging learning activities in class. On Friday morning, we discussed our week in school and decided that we would like to share these thoughts about our learning this week:
Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):
- We put so much work into our class assembly rehearsals and performances this week and feel that our performance for our visiting adults on Friday morning was very successful and we really enjoyed sharing our learning. Our teachers were very happy with how well we presented our assembly on Friday morning and we are sure that our visiting adults enjoyed all of the amazing PowerPoints, songs, dramas, fashions show, etc. Thanks to everyone who came along
- We think that there are improvements in our class with becoming more responsible and respectful to other children and adults and we are committed to continuing to work hard at improving this
- Most of us feel that we are making good progress with our Mental Maths work and our listening and understanding of the important strategies has definitely improved since we started P6/7
- We felt that we made did some wonderful work with our descriptive writing this week as we developed our skills with using metaphors, similes and alliteration. We also started learning how to use personification this week as part of our focus on figurative language
- We felt that our measurement work in Maths went well as we learned about metric and imperial units of measurement and started to convert between different measurements, for example miles and kilometres
- We felt that we were more respectful in our basketball PE lesson this week
- Many of us believe that following our school values at break time and lunch time are improving
- The children in class who attend school football club are enjoying the activities and working with the coach
Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning)
- Some of us were a little concerned about some of the class not being responsible during assembly rehearsals earlier in the week
- Many of us think that we need to keep working hard at demonstrating our school values in the playground and make sure that we listen effectively and respectfully to adults in the school
Our school value award winners for this week are Ella and Adam. Congratulations!
Well done for a fantastic week, P6/7 and a wonderful presentation of our class assembly to visiting adults on Friday morning. Have a lovely weekend.
