Seafield Snippets Friday 2nd October 2026

It has been a really positive week at Seafield, with lots of learning, discussion and reflection taking place across the school. This week, our children have been thinking particularly about inclusion and what it means to make sure everyone feels valued, understood and able to take part. As part of Dyslexia Awareness Week, pupils have been learning more about dyslexia and recognising that we all have different strengths and may learn in different ways. We brought this learning together at our assembly yesterday, where every pupil received a blue Dyslexia Awareness ribbon to celebrate what they had learned and to help raise awareness across our school community.

Our conversations about inclusion also link closely to our Seafield expectation of being SAFE. We want every child to understand that feeling safe at school is not only about physical safety, but also about helping to create an environment where everyone feels included, respected, listened to and comfortable being themselves. Our pupils have been thinking about the part they each play in making Seafield a safe and welcoming place for everyone.

There has also been lots of discussion about how pupils can use their voice to shape their learning and our school. Our Hub groups have now been established, creating further opportunities for children to share their views, contribute ideas and play an active part in school improvement. Classes have also been talking about their action plans for the session ahead, considering what is important to them, what they would like to achieve and how they can work together to make a difference.

It has been lovely to hear the thoughtful conversations happening across the school this week.

With Parent Consultations fast approaching, please look out for notification that bookings for appointments are open.

Have a lovely weekend
