Primary 6/7 - Friday 11th September
Primary 6/7 have had a great week with lots of interesting and engaging learning activities in class. On Friday morning, we discussed our week in school and decided that we would like to share these thoughts about our learning this week:
Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):
- We all felt that it was great to have our family Learning Breakfast on Wednesday and we all really enjoyed seeing our adults who were able to attend and we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious breakfast. We also enjoyed sharing some of our classroom activities with our adults
- We felt that we took part well in our spelling tasks on Friday morning, demonstrating a very good focus on our work and developing our understanding of vocabulary and spelling patterns
- Our Primary 7s who were able to attend the Cross Country event this week, all felt that they tried their best and put in very good effort in the competitive running events. We also all felt very positive about Noel coming third in the boys cross country event. Well done!
- We all really enjoyed having Matt from Veolia visit us This week and all of the fantastic learning that he shared with us about recycling of waste water and sewage. We also really enjoyed the fun activity that he did with us which help show us the importance of recycling
- We all felt that we did very well with our sentence uplevelling activity this week as we added wonderful descriptive detail to sentences to improve them
- We felt very positive about our place value work in Maths
- We all continue to enjoy our PE lessons focusing on golf and starting to learn about and practise putting this week
Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning)
- Some of us have been finding our 2D and 3D shape work a little tricky
- Some of us felt that there was some inappropriate silliness during Matt from Veolia’s visit
- We also feel that over the week it can be difficult to focus on our learning if everyone in class isn’t being responsible
