Primary 6/7 Friday 4th September

It has been a fun week in Primary 6/7.  We decided that we would like to share these thoughts about our learning this week:

Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):

  • Everyone enjoyed the production of The Secret Garden who visited our school on Wednesday.
  • We loved having a special workshop afterwards just for our class where we learned lots about what happens behind the scenes regarding sound and lighting, costumes and scenery and we even got some tips to help us when planning our upcoming class assembly.
  • We learned about SMART targets and have been adding personal targets to our My World of Work profiles.
  • Some people were delighted with the progress they had made in golf as they were able to successfully get the ball into the hoop.
  • In PE with Mrs Robertson we enjoyed playing lots of different versions of tig and because everyone was listening better this week it was more fun.
  • In Maths we have been learning about Place Value and we were able to partition and build 7 digit numbers.

Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning)

  • Some people found the Place Value work in Maths tricky but we plan to continue to use concrete materials next week to help us gain a greater understanding.
  • We feel we still need to work on becoming more respectful especially when other people are speaking.

Our school value award winners for this week are Harris for Resilience and Ruaridh for Ambition.  Both boys were able to use what we previously  discussed about The Learning Pit to persevere and achieve success.  Well done!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
