Friday 4th September 2026 - Primary 5/6
We have had a great week in Primary 5/6 where we have been working in our Home Groups to create a Stay and Stray learning activity. In our Home Groups we work together developing our collaboration, communication, leadership, creativity and problem solving skills. We will then share our learning with other groups in the class.
Tickled Pink-
- We really enjoyed creating ways to present and share our learning about birds. They were able to choose from a range of materials – water colours, posters, canva, powerpoint, different sizes of paper and creative materials.
- We were enthusiastic about developing our sewing skills and we chose different ways to develop our skills. Some chose bookmarks, plastic shapes and even sewing a few stitches to a photograph of a bird.
- We really enjoyed our outdoor PE session where we played Teamwork games.
- We were enjoying using our reading skills roles while reading non fiction texts this week. ( The Predictor, The Clarifier, The Questioner and The Summeriser – And The Big Boss Role!
- We enjoyed our school Secret Garden performance from a local theatre company- the music and songs were great and the backdrops were really cool.
- Our Destination Judo taster session was great fun.
- We really enjoyed having our parents into class and showing them around and having the family breakfast.
Green for Growth
- Some of us found the place value maths a bit tricky when we moved onto Thousands and Tens of Thousands- we will keep working on it.
- We will keep practicing when rounding to the nearest 10, 100, 1000 and 10000.
- Sewing was a bit tricky but we will show resilience and keep working on it.
- When our devices are being tricky and we can’t log in to our tasks.
