Primary 6/7 Friday 21st August
The first full week has been a busy one in Primary 6/7. We discussed our week in school and decided that we would like to share these thoughts about our learning this week:
Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):
- We have enjoyed being back into a routine after the summer break.
- We have continued to get to know each other more and have been creating detailed back pack designs which tell about ourselves and our interests.
- Our first writing lesson of this session has also been All About Me when we have been learning to write notes and have used these notes to write descriptions about ourselves. We used the laptops to start our final drafts and have been learning how to edit our work, changing the fonts and correcting mistakes.
- We were delighted to hear during our assembly this morning that all our hard work has paid off and we have achieved our RRSA gold award.
- We followed up on our discussion about the zones of regulation last week by making our own Regulation Toolboxes with strategies we can try to help get back into the green zone.
- We discussed how we feel when faced with challenges and what we can do to overcome these and we created Learning Pit posters to refer to when we feel overwhelmed and ‘in the pit’.
- In Maths we have been looking at areas we are confident in and identifying those that we need to work on.
- During our golf lesson we enjoyed learning how to do different shots and the ‘chip’ shot proved very popular.
Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning)
- Some people found it tricky to remember their different log in details and passwords and we have spent some time refreshing these.
- We feel we need to be more responsible in PE lessons.
Our school value award winners for this week are Effie for Resilience and Jack for Responsibility. Well done!
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
