Primary 6/7 - Friday 12th June
Primary 6/7 have had a very different week with the P7 children being at Deans Community High School for their transition days on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday morning, we discussed how the week went for both P6 and P7 children and decided that we would like to share these thoughts about our week:
Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):
- The P7 children enjoyed the 3 days of transition at Deans High School and thought it was wonderful getting to know what it’s like in high school
- The P6 children enjoyed getting detailed feedback on their projects this week and then being able to continue working on them and improving them based on the feedback they were given. They also enjoyed spending some time in other classes in the school
- Some of our P6 children enjoyed helping Mrs Denholm with activities related to Health Week
- The P7s felt that it was fun going round different classes and getting help from their buddies in high school so that they could find the classrooms they needed to go to
- The P6s were really thrilled to find out who their buddies will be after the summer and enjoyed spending time with the nursery children that they will be buddying up when they transition to P1
- Our Primary 7s feel that they were still able to rehearse well for their leavers’ assembly when they were in school on Monday and Friday
Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning)
- One of our P6 pupils put a lot of time into working with i-Pads to find photos for the leavers’ assembly and it took quite some time and a lot of effort
- Some of the P6 children found it quite unusual that the classroom was so quiet and empty when the P7s were on transition
Our school value award winners for this week are Ben and Indi. Massive congratulations to them!
Have a lovely weekend and see you all next week.
