Friday 29th May 2026 P2/3

We have had another very busy week this week and have enjoyed the nice weather. Thank you to everyone who has ensured the children have applied sun cream and bring hats.

Tickled Pink –

  • We were enthusiastic about our Outdoor PE sessions, developing our fitness and participating in team games. We also created an obstacle course.
  • We carried out experiments about what plants need to grow – we planted seeds on plastic, on an apple, on paper, in water and soil. We used magnifying glasses to investigate the growth and discussed conclusions.
  • We created our own individual art work of a plant using a range of materials to show roots, stem, leaves, petals and seeds – we were all very successful in doing this and our finished pictures look wonderful.
  • Outdoor learning we were making shadows with our bodies and our friends.
  • We made lemonade in class with lemons, some of us liked it and others did not. We then had to go and write instructions on how to make Lemonade. We listed the materials and the step by step instructions.

Green for Growth-

  • When we are doing creative art activities we need to get better at taking care of our resources – (lids on pens, glue sticks) and helping to tidy up our classroom afterwards.
  • We need to stay focussed and use our number talk skills when working on a maths problem solving task – some of us found this weeks task quite challenging. We had to use the numbers 1 to 8 and find as many different ways to make sums with the same answer.
