Seafield Snippets - 30th May 2025
I hope this finds everyone well. It was fantastic to see so many of our families at our school sports this morning. We were delighted to be able to go ahead and thankfully the rain didn’t come to much which was a bonus! The children took part in their sports activities with enthusiasm and showed our school values. We greatly appreciated the support of the students and staff from Deans Community High School who helped set up and score each station.
We have a very busy week next week as it is our school Health Week. We need you to continue to keep everything crossed for dry weather as some activities are planned for outside although we do have wet weather contingencies! Children can come to school dressed for sporting activity every day. No football clothing including national strips please. We ask that children do not wear crocs as these are not safe for moving around the school or taking part in physical activity. If anyone needs help with providing footwear for their child/children, please contact me and we can support you with this. Children should bring a water bottle to school every day if possible. On Thursday, our older pupils will be going along to Seafield Bowling Club to try their hand at bowls and they need to be wearing flat soled shoes for this (trainers are fine) Classes will be out of routine in terms of break times and lunch times but staff will support them to manage these changes and with such a lot of fun activities planned, we hope that everyone has a great time over the week. Wednesday is our day with Xcite West Lothian, please remember to let us know if you do not wish your child to be included in photographs if you haven’t already done so.
A huge thank you to Mrs Denholm and Mrs Baird for the effort that they have put in to organising the week and also to Mr Mackenzie and Mrs McIntyre who are our parent Health and Wellbeing champs, they will be helping us out across the week! There is still time to sign up for Mr Mackenzie’s Fun Family Fitness on Tuesday morning!
A reminder to our P7 parents that there is a parent meeting in Deans Community High School next Thursday evening in preparation for the transition days the following week.
P2/3 will be holding their class assembly on Friday morning, we aim for a 9.10am start and look forward to welcoming families along. Our P1 assembly will take place on Friday 13th June at 9.10am and parents will receive an email about this too.
I hope that everyone has a restful weekend! Lynne Egan.
