Primary 6/7 - Friday 23rd May 2025

Primary 6/7 have had a great week in school, with lots of exciting learning activities in class and visitors coming to help us learn. We had an amazing Rights’ Day on Friday morning and all of our P6/7 learners were incredibly responsible as they either helped to create, set-up and run activities or helped our younger learners as they took part in the different sessions throughout the morning.

On Friday morning, after the excellent Rights activities, we quickly discussed our week in school and decided that we would like to share these thoughts about our learning:

Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):

• We loved the Rights’ Day and all of the activities that we took part in to help us learn more about children’s rights
• The Primary 7s enjoyed their visit from the Science teacher from Deans CHS and taking part in the experiments
• We enjoyed our percentages problem solving activity as were able to demonstrate our understanding and learning about percentages
• We enjoyed starting our new writing task where we were able to choose an animal to write an information report about
• We found mental maths a little easier this week as we consolidated the strategies and questions from previous lessons

Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning):

• We enjoyed some of the activities that the West Lothian Ranger Service did with us on Wednesday last week as we were learning about the Outdoor Access Code but we also needed to be a little more responsible, ensuring we followed instructions properly and took part in a more respectful way

Our school value award winners for this week are Harvey and Alieu.
