Seafield Snippets - Friday 23rd May
I hope that everyone is well and enjoying the last of this good weather, I am really hoping that the weather forecast is wrong and the sun is with us for a bit longer! Although we were off on Monday, we’ve still been busy this week! Today we had a “Rights Day” where children worked in mixed groupings and took part in a number of activities to help promote the importance of children’s rights. The school was buzzing as the children moved around and took part and everyone seemed to enjoy the day. Thank you to the pupil group and Mr Hamilton for setting this up! P6/7 enjoyed a visit from the Ranger service this week and were lucky to be able to complete their activity outdoors in the sun. P7 had a visit from staff from the Science department at DCHS and took part in some experiments as part of their transition. The first P5/6 group took part in their Bikeability session on Thursday and this went well too!
Sports Day and Health Week
A letter has been emailed to you with information about our upcoming Sports Day and Health week, please take time to read this as it contains important information.
Sharing our Learning sessions
Our next “Sharing our Learning” sessions will take place on Wednesday 11th June. There will be a session at 2.30pm and another session at 6pm. This is an opportunity for parents/carers to come along and chat to your child about what they have been learning in school. Please note that due to space, only 1 adult per child can attend. Our P7 pupils will be attending their secondary school transition on this day but can attend the evening session. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but time is getting away from us and this date is the best option in terms of the hall being available. We hope to see you at the sessions!
Coming up next week
Monday – P7 to take part in Teams call with DCHS about the annual house competition
Thursday – Rights Respecting schools steering group meeting (staff, pupils and partners who sit on this group) 2pm
Friday – Sports Day (timing details contained within the letter)
Have a lovely weekend!
