Primary 6/7 - Friday 26th September
Primary 6/7 have had a brilliant week with lots of exciting learning activities in class and two amazing sessions with visitors from Nil By Mouth to our classroom on Thursday. On Friday morning, we discussed our week in school and decided that we would like to share these thoughts about our learning this week:
Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):
- We really enjoyed PE as it was our last session playing iron/chipping shots in golf and we have all made great improvements with our golf swings and controlling our shots and we also thought that it was lots of fun
- We really enjoyed our STEM workshop with Jamie from Nil By Mouth yesterday because we were given a great task to construct a wheelbarrow out of Meccano in our small groups
- We thoroughly enjoyed our first outdoor learning session when we were able to go outwith the school grounds and make dens and play in the woods nearby the school
- We also really enjoyed the other workshop that we had on Thursday morning with Dave from Nil By Mouth as we were learning about discrimination and identity by doing some interesting and fun activities
- Lots of us enjoyed our work in French on Language Nut yesterday
- Many of us enjoyed our Adobe Express session on Wednesday where we created our “Day in Data” document as part of Maths Week Scotland
- Some of us enjoyed our division review work in Maths as we felt it was great to learn how to avoid having a remainder when doing division sums
Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning)
- Some of us found the STEM workshop where we had to create the wheelbarrow quite tricky as there weren’t any instructions and we had to work out the process in our groups
- Some of us found our Maths work on division review quite tricky as we started to work on the process for written division sums
Our lead learners for this week were Harvey, Amelia, Jake and Ruaridh and they set the following targets for our class; Be responsible in the playground, Don’t make silly noises in class, Be responsible if you are working outside the classroom and Don’t speak across the classroom or when the teacher is speaking. The fantastic news is that our lead learners noticed lots of people meeting those targets this week. Well done!
Our school value award winners for this week are Archie and Annie. Congratulations!
Well done for a wonderful week, P6/7. Have a lovely weekend.
