P2/3 Friday 15th August Primary 2/3

We have had a great first week in P2/3. We have been getting to know our classmates, our classroom and according to some of the children today – The best teachers in the world!

Tickled Pink

• We read the book Our Class is a Family and used this to start planning our Class Charter. We did some lovely drawings for our wall display.
• We created a class book using a black dot and our imagination…… the dot became a balloon, a sunflower, a bug in the garden, a nut for a squirrel, a planet in space. a pair of glasses, a creature in the ocean – we showed our teachers that we have a great imagination!
• We made lovely bookmarks.
• We had a whole school assembly – it was nice to sit in the P2/3 area.
• Seeing our friends and playing outside.
• Playing parachute games.

Green for Growth

• We used number fans for some mental maths – it was tricky for some of us using them for the first time!
• It was a bit tricky using our new word books to start with but it did help us with our spelling – especially when we were writing acrostic poems about ourselves.

We are looking forward to next week when we have a full week of school.
