Primary 6/7 - Friday 16th May 2025

Primary 6/7 have had a great week in school, with lots of excellent learning activities in class. On Friday morning, we discussed our week in school and decided that we would like to share these thoughts about our learning:

Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):

  • We continued to enjoy our learning about percentages in Maths as we are getting more familiar with the strategies for finding different percentages of amounts
  • We enjoyed our outdoor times this week as part of Mental Health Week
  • We enjoyed starting our new class novel, “Private Peaceful” and learning about the characters and the time in history in which it is set
  • We enjoyed finishing off our Writing tasks linked to the Explanation text genre as we learned about how we should explain things clearly in a text for readers who might not know about the topic
  • Our Primary 7 pupils enjoyed continuing to prepare for their leavers assembly whilst our Primary 6s were enjoying starting their personal choice projects

Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning):

  • Some of us found our mental maths questions a bit tricky and need to carefully listen to strategies being explained in the classroom by other pupils and teachers
  • Some of us also felt that the new books/novels that we have chosen for our Guided Reading are a wee bit tricky as we get to know the characters and learn about how the author is writing and getting familiar with their style of writing

Our school value award winners for this week are Faith and Preston and they will set our class targets for next week.

Well done for an excellent week P6/7. Have a lovely long weekend and see you on Tuesday
