Primary 6/7 - School Camp - Dalguise - Day Two

Another great day at school camp for the children today. We had a great, hearty breakfast and then got straight into our activities for the day. We started with orienteering and explored many areas of the large site here at Dalguise using maps and various clues and hints from our lovely instructor. After orienteering we split into our activity groups again and had great fun doing the “Giant Swing” activity. Everyone tried hard to get over any nerves or fear of heights and all of the children thought it was brilliant fun. After lunch we took part in Raft Building and Archery and the children thoroughly enjoyed both sessions demonstrating some excellent skills in Archery and working fantastically well in their groups to build, float and paddle their rafts around on the water area in camp. Some of the children enjoyed getting a bit wet even though the water was rather cold! There may some damp and dirty clothes from this activity but we have tried to use the ‘drying rooms’ to get rid of some of the dampness! We then got our visit to the shop onsite before dinner and the children enjoyed deciding what they should spend their money on. Finally, our evening activity was a PGL team games tournament and we had lots of fun competing in creative and exciting games. A wonderful day at camp and we are really looking forward to our activities tomorrow morning before we get on the bus back to school.
